One year after the debut of the four-seater Rivolta GT, the ISO returned to the Turin Motor Show in 1963 with a new two-seater car, also signed by Bertone, the Grifo A3 / L. This coupe served as the basis for the Grifo A3 / C, distinctly sporty and developed by the Livorno-based engineer Giotto Bizzarrini. Its riveted aluminum body was made by Sport Cars of Modena. It was the starting point for a series of exceptional berlinettas, which were in a way the heirs of the Ferrari 250 GTO. From January 1966, a new series, with welded bodywork appeared under the name of the Bizzarrini GT 5300 Strada, equipped with a 370 horsepower 5354cc V8 engine. Most of the bodies were manufactured by BBM, but there were some examples with bodywork moulded in plastic. About 100 units of the Strada were produced from 1966 to 1968.
