The Porsche 962 underwent many modifications over the years by private teams. Some projects deviated so much from the original version that they can be considered almost completely independent. Kevin Jeannette built in the mid-nineties a car called Gunnar 966, which complied with the new American regulations. The 966 had some elements that could be reminiscent of the Porsche 917/30. The chassis was original, while the engine and some suspension elements were those of the 962.
