Curiously, in the line of the Aston Martin DB, there was never the abbreviation DB1, although this apocryphal name was often used (erroneously) for the 2-liter Sport. The abbreviation DB2 was instead used for the production version which appeared in April 1950 at the New York Motor Show. The front was modified compared to the competition version and the ground clearance was reduced. Starting with the fiftieth example (out of 309 coupé), the DB2 underwent some aesthetic tweaks. Starting from January 1951, a Vantage version was also proposed, with an enhanced engine (125 horsepower). Production ceased at the end of 1953, with the arrival of the DB2 / 4.
