The Dino 308 GT / 4 brought Luigi Chinetti, Ferrari importer in the United States, the idea of preparing a model for endurance races. Chassis 08020, one of the very first examples, was transformed by the North American Racing Team in preparation for participation in the 1974 24 Hours of Le Mans. The aerodynamic changes involved the addition of front and rear spoilers and Plexiglas windows. The rims were Speedline. In addition, the engine had received specific preparation. The car, entered in the Sport class, had to retire; she was enrolled again in the 1975 24 Hours but was included in the general forfeit of the whole NART team, in controversy with the organizers of the race.
