For the 1967 Formula 1 Championship, Ferrari had to deeply modify their 312-type with new Campagnolo 5-spoke rims and with the huge introduction of glass fibre that reduced the minimum weight to a mere 530 kgs; the engine was uprated to 390 bhp. At the Italian GP the car finally came with a 48 valves head engine, giving no less than 410 bhp. The car was driven by Chris Amon, Mike Parkes, Ludovico Scarfiotti and Lorenzo Bandini, the latter being killed in an accident during the last laps of the Monaco GP. The season was not a top one for the team, only clinching four third place with Amon, but no wins. In the makes championship Ferrari finished 5th with 20 points.
