The sports versions of the BX had a rather long life, starting from the appearance of the phase-2, in July 1986. On that occasion the GTI was marketed, with a 1905cc and 125hp engine, power steering, rear spoiler, fog lights and sports seats . The ABS option was added later in the year. In July 1990 the injection was modified and the power was reduced by a couple of horsepower. In 1992 the catalytic converter (122hp) was introduced and standard air conditioning was provided. A “Millésime 1.9i” version was added which received the specific presentation of the GTi, with better soundproofing. For the 1994 vintage, production of the entire BX range was stopped.
